Sustainable Transport
In Knowsley, we are working to build an integrated transport system that supports the sustainable regeneration of the borough. Knowsley Council and its partners are committed to realising the aims set out in Merseyside’s Local Transport Plan. This includes introducing strategic route signing to assist freight movements across and through the borough and setting up traffic management measures to reduce delays to centres of employment. All planning applications are assessed to ensure sustainable modes of travel are encouraged or catered for while the council itself uses its Local Transport Plan resources to provide improved routes and facilities for cyclists, pedestrians and public transport.
